Customize Your Shoes With Ribbon

Need to make that outfit just a little extra special? Want to just spice it up a little bit more? Well, then customize your shoes with ribbon. All kinds of shoes can be embellished with ribbon. Whatever the occasion, a little bit of ribbon goes a long way on all types of shoes. We have seen some extremely fancy shoes that really started out as Plain Jane flip flops. Or maybe you know exactly what you want your bridesmaids' shoes to look like, but you just cannot seem to find them in the catalogs. We have been amazed at some of the ideas our clients have had when it comes to using ribbon for their shoes.

Here are some examples:

Bridesmaid Shoes

Matching shoes to bridesmaid dresses is easy when you customize them with ribbon. Wide or narrow ribbons look equally lovely on a pair of basic sandals; for thin back straps, cut wide ribbons into strips or use narrow ones.white custom shoes To attach ribbon strip, dot strap of shoe with fabric glue and press ribbon onto strap. Trim ends at the proper angle, and tuck into shoe's crease. (If you like, glue on a bow-tied ribbon.) For a buckle hole, use the existing holes as a guide to pierce the ribbon (a darning needle works well).

Crocs

Use a small hole punch to punch holes around the edges of your Crocs. Then thread ribbon through these holes for a custom embroidered look. Use ribbon in a coordinating color for your Crocs to add a simple and sophisticated border to your shoes. Use fabric glue to attach ribbon, beads or sequins to your Crocs. Glue ribbon around the bottom rim or wrap it around the ankle strap. Glue beads around the ankle portion or sequins to the toes.

Canvas Shoes

Customize a pair of plain white canvas shoes (like the $5 Wal-Mart variety), and make them unique and fun. The lightweight canvas makes them the perfect summer shoe. Using fabric paint, paint a striped pattern or any design you choose on the shoe. Then thread a coordinating ribbon for pretty shoe laces.
