I've been working with a Diaspora* account for over two years and it has been great. Markdown is great for on-line posts. Diaspora* is great for conversations and being “excellent to each other”. I like the minimalist, distraction free environment of WriteFreely too. And the ability to edit posts, and the default to post a Draft anonymously before going public could make WriteFreely a great tool for composition. I think Barry Lane has a book on writing that is about the importance of re-writing. Maybe I should write my Diaspora* posts here on WriteFreely, as drafts and the blog posts. After catching all the mistaken word typos and the awkward sentences, then maybe I should upload to Diaspora*... – https://ruhrspora.de/u/bsmall2

My feeling is that WriteFreely could be useful for writing or composition classes.... There could be a fediverse education program waiting to be discovered
