Isolde is the veteran of many a battle, showing in her thousand-yard stare. What the stare doesn't show is that the young priestess is not a veteran of physical conflict but rather of courtly conflict. Indeed the sheletered priestess has hardly set foot outside of the royal castle; what little she knows of life beyond the castle walls comes from books of ... dubious ... accuracy.
This doesn't mean, however, that she's soft. Or a pushover. She has navigated fields of battle easily as deadly as those more prosaic ones where lance and polearm and sword and shield hold sway. The scars, however, unlike those of the knights and men-at-arms, are all on the inside, delivered by unkind word and the biting of backs.
