dang I love investigating the grammar of sign languages

her: Can I do like, the same process as with the transitive verbs, but with “ich”? Like, instead of “give you tea”, to say I (points to her own chest) give you (moves the hand, still pointing to herself, towards me) “ich”? “Ich bin dein” (signs the word “Frau”, mouthing:) “Mädchen”?

me: I mean communication in DGS is pretty flexible and I'm sure the meaning would carry… But I don't know, it sounds a bit off to me, grammatically. Like, you could always phrase it explicitly like, (points to self) “ich” (opens palm, turns towards her and moves in her direction) “deine”. But it does sound a bit distancing because the word for “yours” looks a bit like you're pushing them away…?

her: Yeah I dunno…

me: But that's the word for “yours”. What about this: To make it more romantic you could do it like, (points to self) (open palm moves towards her) (but I keep going until actually touching her chest, smiling, looking into her eyes..)

her: (Points to self) (opens palm, moving towards me: “yours”) (lays her hand on my chest) (keeps inclining towards me) (sits on my lap as we kiss desperately)
