A Pokemon Zibaldone

Ramblings of a pokemon fan...

I choose YOU... (lol)!!

Ok, so, we finally get to choose our pokemon! My trainer number ends with a 3 so, I gots to choose Turtwig. Joy.

Turtwig is alright. Not my first pick but fine. My game I reckon, loves to eff me over.... sighs...

But, maybe... just maybe this may work!

I was thinking up ways to combat Barry's chimchar... Buizel is ok, but it comes too late in the game, but Starly... and it's wing attack. Chimchar or whatever turns to fire/fighting, and fighting is weak to flying type moves. :)

OK. My turtwig, is bashful, and is strongly defiant (again, reminds me of me...) and happily eats any poffins... (hopefully not my burned ones! lol)

Attack, special attack is great, defence and special defence is average, speed is sucky but with the quick claw it shouldn't be a problem.

I took a gander at the nicknames over at the Name Rater, and I saw 'Snapling' which is not so bad considering one name was 'Pot Leaf'. rolls eyes

Ha. Seriously though...

So, after I named my Pokémon, I went home to get my journal and whatevs I needed... and Barry's mama comes in and asks you to deliver a package (plot twist: two maps!) to him in Jubilife City...

I just caught a male Starly which I named Soren.

I will play some more and then, I will report back!

Tootles! Sammy

Starting over...

That's me. I remember back when the original Diamond & Pearl came out... Bees and I preordered the games, and they came with these pencil style styluses .. the ones like the DSi XL had? These..

I lost mine somewhere on Millard Avenue, and Bees lost hers in the shuffle when we had to evacuate bc of bedbugs??

Tis a shame. But apparently, they are on eBay.... so, if you are interested... there you be..

Like I said in the previous post, I chose Piplup in the beginning. I think Bees chose Piplup too...

So, but with this Nuzlocke thing... your starter depends on your trainer ID. According to Bulbapedia, “A common system is if the last digit of the player's Trainer ID number is 1-3, the player must choose the Grass-type starter; if it is 4-6, the Fire-type starter; if it is 7-9, the Water-type starter; if it is 0, free choice”... so.. let's fire up the game!!

I've played the remakes a bit and Barry, hasn't changed a bit. Still an impulsive annoying guy. He reminds me somewhat of myself with the impulsive bit ha ha...

Anyways, you get to choose your rival's name... I chose Barry bc of the anime?

Yupp...

And he goes chasing after a red gyarados... in this... in Platinum it is one of the legendary lake Pokémon.

I like how in the remakes you can choose to have blonde hair instead of Dawn's blue (black??) hair...

So... and lol, Barry's mother wonders who the eff Barry takes after!!!

So when you reach the Verity lakefront entrance save before entering!

See you in the lakefront!! It's time to pick your pokeymans!!!

Pokemon Diamond

This is the cartridge version not the new remake. I am getting a Switch on May 2nd. And I am aiming to collect slowly but surely every Pokemon game on there too. Call me obsessed. Heh.

OK! The starters as many of you may know due to the remakes are..

Piplup (my personal fave back when this game went live... still is...)

Chimchar which is overkill... imho.

And then, there is the one, I always choose regardless, and that is Turtwig, not bc he is my favorite grass type — he ain't but I generally like the grass type.

What is your favorite starter in this gen?

Tonight I'm going to consult the Bulbapedia's article on the nuzlocke challenge... find out my trainer # and then, later tomorrow, I will fill you in. My brother is taking my sisters and I to the dog park... and to Tim's later... and Maureen comes also .... so I have to do my computer maintenance today... it's a pain in the buttocks, but I refuse to neglect the upkeep on my computer.
