Is Fox a Friend of Parler?

Cory Doctorow has good opinions about situation with Parler. What got me thinking was the image from Fox News. At first I thought that they are missing an opportunity by not starting a social network for conservative voices. Then I realised that you either deplatform nazis or get deplatformed. Just like Parler.

Another reason is that they don't think services listed in the image as services, but brands. Fox doesn't need to start a competing service, from their point of view they are already competing as far as those services are seen as media networks. Fox is “just reporting the news, ma'am” and if they have an agenda, it's “boycott these brands”.

That raises the question to what exetent Fox News provides platform for speech that gets censored on other platforms? So far social media has been blamed of violence, but now it is being shut down and if violence continues, attention will shift towards traditional media.

Will Fox News distance themselves from Trump that is becoming more and more toxic? How will their audience react to that? Will there be public discussion on what role Fox News played and what will be its consequences?
