Hello and welcome to Vattuvarg's. This blog is my new online home. The posts here are formatted with Markdown and published on a federated writefreely server hosted by wordsmith.social.

Who am i? In some forums and otherwise on the net I'm known as vattuvarg. The nickname is inspired by the logotype of my home town. The nick has two parts. The first part uses an old spelling of water (vatten in modern swedish) and the second part is the swedish word for wolf (varg).

In other places I use the nickname hukka. The word has many meanings in Finnish:

  1. waste, loss rahanhukka — waste of money verenhukka — blood loss
  2. (idiomatic, usually in phrases) doom, peril (adverse or terrible fate)
  3. (informal) wolf
  4. (hunting) A situation in which a hound loses the scent and is not able to find it again.

Right now I'm not just one of those aspects of the word. — I'm all of them.

My real name is Pasi Pärnänen and I live in the south of Lapland, Sweden.

The family name suggests that I have ties to Finland and yes, that is the case. Both my parents were born there but migrated here before I was born.

The safety and balance of our planet is dear to me and thus I constantly look for solutions to the global climate crisis.
