Art Gallery – Save Images, use in our Letters
Untitle watercolour by PaseriCats
Postcards for Friends
Art Gallery – Saving some nice images for later use in our Slowly letters is a way to add a delightful surprise to them. Attach one, a single striking image. Watch the results.
This is another advantage of working with a PC or laptop; the fact that we have lots of Storage space, can be easily organized (folders, subfolders, moved around, etc). Thanks Goodness for Slowly Web Mode.
And used at will. 🙂
Save Quality Art images
A small collection is a nice thing to have. I save nice ones I find, and use them as a surprise touch at the end of a letter.
Sort like a Postcard, inserted in the envelope with my letter to pen pal friends.
Being interested in some similar areas, they usually are awed and respond warmly. I get others from them, and save some on my own Gallery.
Some Examples ?
'Ankara', by Rashed AlAkroka [larger size version]
I love Science Fiction, and this wonderful CyberPunk image I just came across at Twitter is an example.
Cyberpunk is a subgenre of science fiction in a dystopian futuristic setting that tends to focus on a “combination of low-life and high tech“[1] featuring advanced technological and scientific achievements, such as artificial intelligence and cybernetics, juxtaposed with a degree of breakdown or radical change in the social order.[2] Much of cyberpunk is rooted in the New Wave science fiction movement of the 1960s and 1970s, when writers like Philip K. Dick, Roger Zelazny, John Brunner, J. G. Ballard, Philip José Farmer and Harlan Ellison examined the impact of drug culture, technology, and the sexual revolution while avoiding the utopian tendencies of earlier science fiction.
The original image is Larger Resolution, reduced here for blog post.
The artist's original post is at Art Station, here. Thank you — amazing, delicate, wonderful work.
The Source – Write Ahead magazine
I would recommend anyone who enjoys the image to visit the profile of Ahead Looms Magazine - as they publish a lot of those quality art pieces.
Their own Website is HERE.
Another Favourite ?
A young Chinese artist, Xi Zhang has delightful work as well.
'Never Stop Travelling', Zi Zhang [larger size version]
I received one of her images attached to a letter. From my good friend and pen pal Zhenya, from Russia, whom as a young artist also collected images which caught her eye.
It wasn't the image above, but the stunning 'The Ocean' one.
'The Ocean', Xi Zhang [larger size version]
I have many other of Xi's images saved, which I am not using in this page simply due to vertical size considerations (a landscape format image was better here).
“Life Is Tough, But Keep Going: Colorful And Sunny Illustrations By Xi Zhang” is a nice article rich with large size illustrations of Xi's work — I saved most of them to my files.
Recently I discover her relocated Gallery – at Art Station, with a huge collection of great images. She has an Instagram profile as well – with the usual annoying insistence on logging in to see them. Argh.
And the Banner Image
The banner in this post is a watercolour by Japanese artist Yuriko Mitsuoki, who shares her work in her PaseriCats Twitter account and is much appreciated by the many Cat lovers there.
Thank you for all the nice watercolours!
