Rocket Mail — not only a pretty stamp issued last year but a Possibility. There IS a way to send a Slowly letter Instantly. At a small cost...
[ Spoiler Alert — don't read if you prefer the traditional way ]
Great for almost missed Birthdays, or other special occasions. Or just for fun or that must send quick message. Surprise your friend, which will never imagine this can be done.
To S., who's is a wonderful correspondent, active collectionist of Slowly stamps and a nice person I was fortunate to meet via the app.
This is an example of the letters we share, with pen pals all over the World, via the magic of the Slowly App. A modern day take in the traditional penpal experience.
The original letter doesn't have the added pizzazz of imagery and links included in the Blog post – my Favourite way of Content Creation. But the inspiration and most of the text in this page came directly from my Slowly Web client editor screen.
'Mobile First' attitude has damaging consequences.
A different post today — a translation of an interesting article which a fellow Reddit user referred me to. The original is posted in Russian at Habr.com.
I read it via Bing Translator, my preferred tool for this. And liked it, commented to the referrer and he suggested an English translation to spread the word. Which is a good idea, and here it is.
“Making the SlowlyApp sub a Better Place ? Yes, but — We need your participation too.”
The text on this post was originally in a Topic at the Slowly app Reddit sub. It was posted on May 28, and at that time I had been actively participating there for about a month.
Since discovering it, via a suggestion from a pen pal friend, it was clear that it had great potential and content — although sometimes it took some digging and separating the wheat from the chaff.
Chasing new stamps and posting them is a popular sport for our users — since everyone gets excited to see new ones coming out.
This time, it's a Regional and Limited Release, for sale only on the South Korea Stamp Store. Local residents who are Slowly users could have purchased the set, or might accept a request for a Trade. (See suggestions for Trading in a Section below)
Mark Stamps that are Owned by the user in their Stamp Collection page.
This came up at our subReddit dedicated to the wonderful Slowly app, which we use to contact people all over the world, sending letters and learning from each other.
Slowly also has this wonderful idea of 'digital stamps', which we can affix to our electronic letters, and makes them prettier and more meaningful.
Starting in 2017 with only a handful, the success of the app and the stamps popularity has lead to big growth — some of our top collections now hold over 550 Stamps.
Last year, soon after I started on this newly found pen pal app, I discovered a new penpal. Her personal profile mentioned interests in Castles and History, which motivated me to write the all-important fist letter to her.
The letter was accepted and a nice reply came back. My next letter, was long and full of details. Created in a long writing session, via mobile phone screen. (This was months before Slowly Web mode existed).
And it was enjoyed by both, writer and reader. Now I have decided to add it to the other letter samples already in my Blog. I think it's a nice one, hope you enjoy reading it too.
Those are well deserved Reward for the many volunteer Translators, who put their time and effort into creating local language versions of Slowly for their country's users.
And a RARE stamp 'treat' in the wild! (as so few people possess them, and are able to send in letters)
