Hey you guys, it's a lucky day for me, because a friend in Macau sent me a Golden Pencil stamp. I gave up those hard-to-collect Hello Kitty and Translator stamps. I think the point of this app is to help us make more friends and share our cultures, collecting stamps is only a small part of it.
Can't blame him, as this is an exceedingly RARE stamp. To discover someone who received it is already an Achievement by itself.
A really nice, long letter to a Friend who enjoyed a style of Music I also love; but who sadly departed Slowly, there was never a reply. Hence, 'Ghosted Letters'.
I still have B.'s profile in my active users folder. One of the good people I enjoyed corresponding with, but who sadly have stopped logging in or deactivated accounts all together.
B.'s is the second, terminal, deactivation case. Be well dear friend, and know you are remembered.
The letter is rich and long, as we had this kind of discussions. If it's too long for you, it's understandable.
Art Gallery β Saving some nice images for later use in our Slowly letters is a way to add a delightful surprise to them. Attach one, a single striking image. Watch the results.
This is another advantage of working with a PC or laptop; the fact that we have lots of Storage space, can be easily organized (folders, subfolders, moved around, etc). Thanks Goodness for Slowly Web Mode.
Not everyone is aware, but Slowly App team has a nice feature called βSlowly Storiesβ β where they publish articles they received from users from all over the world.
You write a piece describing your experience using the app, a tale of how you connected with a special pen pal, or maybe reminisce about someone who left and is dearly missed.
Then send it in for Submission (like on a magazine article). If they like and publish it, you get your letter on their growing collection, some exposure and a 200 Coins bonus.
A very recent development I wanted to share with friends
Earlier this morning I received a Slowly letter from a really good friend across the Ocean. I had seen it coming, and was glad they had written.
Good people are always missed, and this is now one of my closest contacts; delightful as together with a couple of others, they fill my heart with joy at our shared communication, and salve the hurt of the missing, departed friends no longer in the Slowlyverse.
It was early, dark. I woke up, and knew sleep wouldn't resume instantly, so came down and drank some water, then grabbed the phone for a quick check.
Some of us are part of the Slowly Translations project, and as a matter of fact, see the new and upcoming features showing up as new 'strings' to be translated before a new version is out.
Last month, we got a large batch of strings to translate β and they included many new Achievement stamps, which were released on November 6, 2020; along with the new Android v.6.2.5 mobile client. (The iOS version arrived later, in the same day)
To S., a friend from Czech Republic, who like me is a Cyclist. A good correspondent, active collectionist of Slowly stamps, who I was fortunate to meet via the app.
This is an example of the letters we share, with pen pals all over the World, via the Slowly App. A modern day take in the traditional penpal experience.
The original didn't have the added pizzazz of imagery and the live links included in the Blog post. But the inspiration and most of the text in this page came directly from my Slowly Web client editor screen.
Chasing new stamps and posting them is a popular sport for our users β since everyone gets excited to see new ones coming out.
This time, it's was a Regional and Limited Release, for sale only on the Mexico Stamp Store. Local residents who are Slowly users could have purchased the set, and might accept a request for a Trade. (See suggestions for Trading in a Section below)
